What makes this work different is both the perspective I bring and the way I understand transformation.
My life and work have taken me through very different worlds—law enforcement, psychotherapy, contemplative practice, hospice, spiritual communities, and ceremonial settings in both the U.S. and South America.
Those experiences have shaped how I understand growth, change, and what it means to live a meaningful life.
They have taught me that real transformation rarely happens through insight alone.
It happens through honest reflection, meaningful relationship, lived experience, and a willingness to engage life more deeply.
I believe many people today are not simply struggling with stress or uncertainty.
They are struggling with disconnection.
Disconnection from themselves.
From meaning and purpose.
From community.
From the earth.Much of this work is about restoring relationship.
Relationship to your own inner knowing.
Relationship to what feels true.
Relationship to the living world around you. This is one reason place matters so much in my work.
The settings I offer are not simply backdrops. They are part of the process.
Whether we meet by a river, in a cemetery, at a stupa, or online, the environment itself can shape reflection, perspective, and awareness.
This work is best suited for thoughtful people seeking depth, clarity, and a more authentic way of living.
It is for those who feel called toward something deeper than problem-solving alone.

I take a flexible and relational approach to pricing.
My standard fee begins at $140 per session, with rates varying depending on the type of work, session format, location, and level of support involved.
I recognize that financial circumstances vary, and I aim to approach pricing with openness, honesty, and flexibility.
My intention is to find a fee that honors both the value of the work and your ability to engage in it consistently over time.
I want cost to be something we discuss openly—not something that quietly becomes a barrier to meaningful work.
We’ll discuss fees during the consultation process and find an arrangement that feels fair and sustainable.

People often experience me as grounded, thoughtful, direct, and deeply present.
I bring a calm but engaged presence to the work. I listen carefully, pay close attention to patterns, and often notice connections, themes, or dynamics that may not be immediately obvious.
Our work together may involve conversation, reflection, silence, movement, or simply slowing down enough to pay attention to what is happening beneath the surface.
I ask thoughtful questions and encourage honest exploration.
At times, I may challenge you—especially when I notice old patterns, avoidance, or places where something important is asking for attention.
I believe meaningful growth requires honesty, curiosity, and a willingness to engage yourself deeply.
Depending on the setting and the nature of the work, sessions may also incorporate elements such as meditation, ritual, contemplative practices, or other grounding practices that support reflection, presence, and deeper connection.
These elements are used thoughtfully and only when they genuinely support the work and align with your intentions and comfort.
This work is reflective and exploratory, but also practical.
The goal is not simply insight, but real movement toward greater clarity, deeper alignment, and a more grounded way of living.

No. The services offered through Gente del Río are coaching and consultation services, not psychotherapy or mental health treatment.
While my work is informed by over a decade of experience as a licensed psychotherapist, services provided through this practice are not therapy and do not establish a therapist-client relationship.
This means I do not diagnose mental health conditions, provide psychotherapy, create treatment plans, or bill insurance through this practice.
Instead, this work is focused on insight, reflection, personal growth, integration, and support during meaningful life transitions.
Many clients seek this work because they want a space for deeper exploration—whether around personal transformation, spiritual development, psychedelic integration, grief, or reconnecting with meaning and purpose.
If you are seeking psychotherapy, treatment for a mental health condition, crisis support, or services eligible for insurance reimbursement, this practice may not be the appropriate fit.
